William Leslie Johnson

Mr. William Leslie Johnson, age 83, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, in the Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, Florida following an extended illness. Mr. Johnson was born in Coolidge, Georgia  and resided in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Glen St. Mary, Florida in 1976. He worked as an instrumentation specialist with Union Camp Chemical Company, Jacksonville, Florida for over 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Raiford Road Church, Macclenny, Florida , an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brigitte Johnson, his parents, Washington L. and Lugenia I. Willoughby Johnson, his son, Robert Christian Johnson and six brothers and two sisters.  He is survived by two daughters, Diana (Jeremy) Johnson of Macclenny, Florida and Marsha Johnson of Orange Park, Florida; one son, James R. (Cristy) Johnson of Middleburg, Florida; two sisters, Gwen Johnson of Louisa, Kentucky and Estelle Lewis of  Pavo, Georgia; Eleven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive.  A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Johnson will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, Feb. 18, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. James R. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny, Florida.
