William "Jim" Roberts, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William James "Jim" Roberts, Jr., age 84, on Nov. 27, 2024 in the HCA Lake City Hospital, Lake City, Florida. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Elberton, Georgia and attended Mercer University and Mercer Law School, graduating in 1965. He then joined the FBI, where he served for almost four years. In 1969, he moved to Lake City and practiced law there for more than 40 years. Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Clara, and his parents, Billy and Imanelle. He is survived by his son, Billy (Terese), his daughter, Kelly and his grandson, William James Roberts, IV (Liam); two sisters, Priscilla Schimmer and Elaine Stowers: one brother, Buddy Roberts. A funeral service to honor Jim's life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 1 P.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Ken Goodrich, Pastor, officiating. Final disposition will be by cremation. Visitation and gathering with family will be from 12 to 1 P.M. (One hour before services) at the church. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W.
