Mr. William Singleton Young, age 84, of Macclenny, Florida died Thursday, Jan. 26, at his residence. He was a native of Baldwin, Florida and had resided in Portland, Oregon before moving to Macclenny, Fla. 30 years ago. He worked as a clerk with Seaboard-Coastline Railroad in Baldwin, Fla. and then retired with Burlington-Northern Railroad in Portland, Oregon. He was a member of the Middleburg Baptist Church and the Transportation Communications International Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin S. and Ethel Oliver Young, his late wife, Melba Dee Young and his son, William Young.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary L. Echternkamp of Macclenny, Fla. and Helen Elaine Wilson of Jamestown, VA; Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Brandy Branch Cemetery, Bryceville, Fla. with Rev. David Thomas, Pastor of Christian Fellowship Temple, officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Tuesday (one hour prior to the service) at Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny.
