Willie Charles "Bunk" Jenkins

Mr. Willie Charles “Bunk” Jenkins, 90 of Lake City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. He was born in 1922 in Tampa, FL to the late William Wylie Jenkins and Jennie Mykell Jenkins, raised in Suwannee County and lived most of his life in Columbia County. Mr. Jenkins was a farmer and he also worked for 22 years with the Florida Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Jenkins in 2003.
Survivors include two step sons, David Lambert, Vinemont, AL and Danny Lambert, Lake City; one step daughter, Michelle Byrd, Lake City; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Watertown Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe Cemetery in Branford. Visitation with the family will be from 10-11:00 AM, Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice at 6037 W US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 32025.
