Windell Ray Wilkerson

Mr. Windell Ray Wilkerson, age 63, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away on October 6, at the Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Windell was born on November 10, 1954, in Macclenny, to the late L.E. and Lavon Mikell Wilkerson. He was born and raised in Macclenny and lived there his entire life. After graduating from Baker County, he worked as an electrician and a plumber until he became disabled. Windell was a true county boy and loved everything about the woods. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride in his 4x4 with his yorkie, Lucy, and his bulldog, Rocky. He is preceded in death by both parents, L.E. and Lavon Wilkerson and his sister and brother-in-law, James and Hollie Ann Ivey.

Windell is survived by his wife of 30 years, Selena Combs Wilkerson of Macclenny, FL; two sons, Paul Wilkerson of Macclenny, FL and Mathew (Brandy) Lowery of Clay County, FL; a daughter, Megan Lowery of Lake Butler, FL; 8 grandkids, Jacob, Josh, Krysten, Cheyenne, Connor, Kenadie, Caleb, and Coral; one great-grandchild, Liam; two brothers, Wayne (Laura) Wilkerson and Billy (Penny) Wilkerson both of Macclenny, FL; and a sister, Susan Smart of Macclenny, FL. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A funeral to honor Mr. Wilkerson will be held on Wednesday, October 10, at 11:00 at the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny. Family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, October 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The services will be officiated by Chaplin James “Jimmy” Combs and Mr. Tommy “Slick” Crawford. His interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Macclenny.
