Mrs. Yanema Elizabeth Castle Rowland, age 87, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 2, in the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida following an extended illness. Mrs. Rowland married her late husband, Clayton Rowland in 1951. Mrs. Rowland was born in Lake City and the married couple moved to Savannah, Georgia and then back to Lake City, Florida in 2009. Mrs. Rowland was a house wife and raised four beautiful children. She moved back to Lake City, Florida to her roots upon retirement. Mrs. Rowland was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton D. Rowland. She is survived by her four children, Sharon Blackmon of Lake City, Florida, Gary (Patricia) Rowland of Bloomingdale, Georgia, Barbara (Randall) Richardson of Waynesboro, Georgia and Melissa (George) Hagaman of Lenoir, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Gwen (John) Parnell, Shelly (Brian) Drescher, Christy Richardson, Michele Newman and Greg (Brandy) Rowland; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Sweet of Lake Butler, Florida; one brother, Kenneth Sweet of Lake City, Florida; and numerous other family members also survive. A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Rowland will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, Feb. 6, in the Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, Florida with Rev. Richard Rodriguez, Pastor of Southside Baptist Church officiating. GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
